How waste services work along the corridor
This navigation region spans separate service systems. Squamish and Whistler are in the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District, while Sunshine Coast communities use Sunshine Coast Regional District and local municipal programs.
Check the community system
Squamish provides eligible curbside collection, Whistler uses resident drop-off depots, and other communities have their own collection and facility arrangements.
Separate before travelling
Garbage, recycling, organics, construction debris and stewardship products use different streams. Mixed loads may be rejected or charged at a higher rate.
Secure wildlife attractants
Local storage and set-out rules reflect active wildlife. Keep food waste and garbage secured and follow the applicable community requirements.
Published Sea-to-Sky & Coast city guides
These reviewed guides cover community-specific collection or drop-off, disposal, bulky waste, construction loads and container placement.
