Regional waste guide
Northern BC waste & recycling
Start with the community where the waste was generated. Northern BC is a navigation grouping, not one service area, so confirm collection eligibility, facility access, fees and accepted materials with the responsible municipality or regional district.

How waste services work across Northern BC
Municipalities, regional districts, First Nations and private collectors have different roles across a large area. Rules from Prince George do not automatically apply in the northwest, on the north coast or in the Peace region.
Identify the local operator
Check the municipality for curbside collection and the regional district for transfer stations, landfills, rural services and regional waste planning.
Confirm facility access
Remote and rural facilities may have limited hours, resident-only programs or material restrictions. Verify the destination before transporting a load.
Separate special materials
Packaging, electronics, paint, tires, batteries, used oil, organics and construction debris may use separate depots or stewardship programs rather than ordinary garbage disposal.
Published Northern BC city guides
The current reviewed guide covers Prince George collection, recycling, regional facilities, bulky loads and public-space container permits. More northern communities will be added as their local information is reviewed.
