How waste services work across the Interior
This guide groups several Interior communities for navigation; it is not one service area. Central Okanagan, North Okanagan, Okanagan-Similkameen and Kamloops each operate under different local and regional programs.
Confirm local collection
Collection frequency, eligible properties, cart ownership and responsibility for recycling or organics vary by municipality and address.
Use the correct facility
Glenmore, Greater Vernon, Campbell Mountain and Kamloops facilities serve different areas and apply their own fees, sorting rules and restrictions.
Check before travelling
Confirm hours and load requirements. Construction, asbestos-containing, hazardous and other controlled waste may need separation, preparation or advance approval.
Published Okanagan & Interior city guides
These reviewed guides cover community-specific collection, recycling, disposal, bulky waste and public-space container requirements.
Official local and regional resources
Choose the authority responsible for the property or facility area; rules are not interchangeable across the region.
