What can go into a dumpster in Maple Ridge?

Private haulers and receiving facilities set load, weight and contamination rules. Identify every material and the intended receiving facility before booking.

Separate recyclable, compostable, reusable and hazardous materials. Metro Vancouver disposal bans and surcharges apply to garbage delivered in the region.

Common loads (confirm first)

  • Non-reusable household junk
  • Furniture and bulky items accepted by the hauler
  • Construction debris approved for the selected facility
  • Clean wood, gypsum, metal and yard trimmings kept in separate streams

Keep out unless specifically approved

  • Asbestos, chemicals, fuels and other hazardous waste
  • Batteries, electronics, propane cylinders, paint and used oil
  • Food scraps and recyclable materials banned from garbage
  • Tires, mattresses, gypsum and appliances mixed into general waste

Many restricted products have designated stewardship depots. Never hide them in a mixed load.

Who handles residential collection?

Maple Ridge does not provide municipal curbside garbage or organics collection. Residents and properties arrange those services privately. Recycle BC provides residential packaging and paper collection at no charge to residents.

Recycle BC curbside frequency

For eligible curbside homes:

  • Remple Disposal is Recycle BC’s curbside collection contractor

Collection days changed for many homes in 2026. Check the current address schedule and set recycling out between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. on collection day.
